Dr. Mou will continue to serve as the company’s chief medical officer, a Cerebral spokesperson told Becker’s on March 4.

“We appreciate his continued commitment and look forward to collaborating on the clinical side as we maintain our focus on clinical quality through our expansion into insurance,” the spokesperson said.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Dr. Mou has founded a new venture. He currently serves as co-founder and CEO of AdvocateMH, a company “reimagining behavioral healthcare triage,” according to its website

Brian Reinken, a former board member of Cerebral, is serving as interim CEO and president, the spokesperson said.

Dr. Mou took over from previous CEO Kyle Robertson, who was ousted in 2022 amid a federal investigation into Cerebral’s controlled substance prescribing practices. The company reached a nonprosecution agreement with the Justice Department in 2024 for $3.6 million.
