Mr. Pickett was most recently chief revenue officer at delivery company DoorDash. He also spent a decade at Google in various roles including as vice president of content and operations for YouTube.
Headspace launched in 2010. The digital mental health company provides meditation content, mental health coaching, therapy, psychiatry and employee assistance program services through employers and health plans, and offers a digital meditation app for consumers.
In April, the company said it will launch a direct-to-consumer business offering mental health coaching. The coaches will not make mental health diagnoses, provide clinical treatment or prescribe medication, though the company said it plans to make these services available later in 2024.
Russell Glass, Headspace’s current CEO, said he planned to step down from his role in a LinkedIn post earlier in 2024.
Mr. Pickett will assume the CEO role Aug. 12.
