Construction on the 185,000-square-foot Utah Mental Health Translational Research Building is set to complete in 2026, with the facility being built on the University of Utah’s campus by the Huntsman Mental Health Institute.

The facility aims to employ staff who will focus on various mental health issues, including suicide, child and young adult mental health, rural mental health, and the psychiatric and social factors brought on by COVID-19, the report said.

Construction was supported by $90 million from the Utah Legislature and $65 million from private donors.
