The county purchased the hospital for $5 million and will need to spend an estimated $10 million on repairs to bring the building up to code. County Manager Eric Brown told KTVN the county is expecting to bring back the same mental health services the hospital previously offered.
The hospital was a 95-bed facility that offered mental health treatment for adults and older adults, but it closed in 2021 due to financial and staffing issues along with the cost to repair aging infrastructure within the hospital, the report said.
Mr. Brown said he wants the facility to begin accepting patients in summer 2024.
