Several healthcare organizations are coming together to build a $100 million behavioral health facility in South Carolina, according to 15 News, an ABC affiliate.
MUSC Health, Francis Mario University and HopeHealth are working with the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and South Carolina Department of Mental Health to develop a new regional behavioral health facility.
The facility will include outpatient and inpatient behavioral health services as well as telehealth and crisis stabilization. The facility will serve as a hub for behavioral healthcare on a MUSC-owned property.
The South Carolina General Assembly provided financial support for the new facility, which has 16 adult and four adolescent beds for crisis services. It will also have a 63-bed inpatient psychiatric unit and transfer 23 psychiatric hospital beds at the McLeod Behavioral Health Center.
